It is over 40 years since the Soweto Massacre of over 1,000 African school children in June 1976. We are raising money through a ‘10 mile Sponsored Walk’ for Dube High School in the sprawling township of Kwa Mashu in Durban, the Treatment Action Campaign and the ZISIZE Educational Trust. In 2017 we raised £5,000.

This year's walk will be held on Sunday 17th June and starts at 11am from King George's Field adjacent to St. Donat's Castle, Llantwit Major.

ACTSA WALES has since 1976 hosted an annual sponsored walk, the SOWETO WALK, commemorating the June 16, 1976 massacre as a fundraising exercise. The Welsh community has regularly donated to political and social causes in Southern Africa.  Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) is a successor organization to the Wales Anti-Apartheid Movement. For decades, funds raised through the SOWETO WALKs and other initiatives have been regularly channelled into South Africa.
