ACTSA WALES has since 1976 hosted an annual sponsored walk, the SOWETO WALK, commemorating the June 16, 1976 massacre as a fundraising exercise. The Welsh community has regularly donated to political and social causes in Southern Africa.  Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) is a successor organization to the Wales Anti-Apartheid Movement. For decades, funds raised through the SOWETO WALKs and other initiatives have been regularly channelled into South Africa.

ACTSA PMB is now registered as a non-profit organisation in South Africa and will raise money from local donors.  ACTSA PMB will work very closely with ACTSA Wales.  Last year local donors contributed R36,000.00 to compliment R137,000.00 from donors in Wales.  We are now approaching possible South African donors with a view to expanding the reach of our organisation.  Registering as an NPO in South Africa is crucial as there is a great deal of support for the types of projects listed below.  Furthermore, it will increase the show of solidarity between the people in Wales and the community in South Africa.  We hope it is possible to organise further events to raise funds for ACTSA PMB.  This will increase the amount of funds raised locally.
